About Me
I am currently a Software Engineer at Optum (UnitedHealth Group), where I develop core features for a national pharmacy workflow and fulfillment platform. I focus on the interface where technicians review and resolve flagged prescriptions, ensuring clinical accuracy before prescriptions are processed within a system supporting millions of patients.
Previously, I served as the lead frontend developer for a global IoT platform, where I expanded the capabilities of a centralized dashboard managing 5,000+ devices. I focused on delivering new features to monitor and organize telemetry data, streamlining device management across international locations.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Information Systems.
Here are some technologies I've been working with:
Outside of work, I enjoy road trips and exploring new places, especially national parks. When I'm looking to unplug, I like camping and hiking to stay active and step away from my desk. After long days, I usually wind down with a good movie or show.

Associate Software Engineer
Optum (UnitedHealth Group) | Feb 2025 — Present
- Driving development of core features for a national prescription fulfillment platform used daily by pharmacy technicians to manage patient medication history.
- Optimized backend performance by implementing Go concurrency patterns (goroutines) to parallelize API calls, reducing latency by 70% for data-heavy views.
- Developed reusable, server-rendered UI components in Go, applying progressive enhancement techniques to reduce client-side JavaScript complexity and improve maintainability.
- Improved data accuracy by engineering an automated translation and validation engine that integrates external APIs, significantly reducing manual entry errors.
- Contributing to a broader architectural initiative for server-side rendering (SSR) to simplify frontend complexity and improve system reliability across teams.
TDP Associate Software Engineer
Optum (UnitedHealth Group) | Jan 2024 — Feb 2025
- Led front-end development of a centralized IoT management platform using React, supporting monitoring and control of 5,000+ devices across U.S. and international locations.
- Built reusable React components using an internal enterprise component library, ensuring UI consistency and accelerating feature delivery.
- Optimized React state management and asynchronous data flows (hooks and API handling) to resolve race conditions and eliminate redundant network requests, improving UI responsiveness.
- Integrated Python (Django REST Framework) APIs to aggregate and expose device telemetry data, leveraging the Django ORM with PostgreSQL for reliable data synchronization.
- Authored technical documentation and delivered knowledge-transfer presentations to ensure smooth cross-team ownership during project handoff.
TDP Software Engineering Intern
Optum (UnitedHealth Group) | Jun 2023 — Aug 2023
- Developed a full-stack validation platform using React and Go to automate duplicate detection and format verification for complex datasets.
- Engineered a recursive parsing algorithm to ensure 100% data integrity for deeply nested structures prior to system ingestion.
- Achieved 84% backend code coverage by architecting a comprehensive unit testing suite, utilizing mock interfaces to ensure API stability for internal team handoffs.
- Automated the deployment lifecycle using GitHub Actions and Docker, while achieving 84% backend code coverage through a robust unit testing suite.
